Bye bye Joshy boy

He's my best friend. For reals though. We talk about the stupidest things and we talk about important personal happenings. He gives me advice, and asks for mine. He wishes the best for me and I do the same for him. I spend more time with him and his family than I do with mine. He leaves tomorrow for the Missionary Training Center to become a certifiable missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I couldn't be more proud of him. I'll miss you tons pal. See you in two.

"Behold, I say unto you that it is my will that you should go forth and not tarry, neither be idle but labor with your might- Lifting up your voices as with the sound of a trump, proclaiming the truth according to the revelations and commandments which I have given you. And thus, if ye are faithful ye shall be laden with many sheaves, and crowned with honor, and glory, and immortality, and eternal life."

Update

I bet you weren't expecting this! It has been brought to my attention that this fine lady

actually taught me how to ride a bike. I don't really remember though... I guess my dad taught me how to blow up and replace the tires. Sorry mom.

Also, I forgot Booth. He's one of my favorites.

Day 14- Family Time!

SKOUSEN
Established 1985

Let’s face it. I have a pretty regal last name. I love it.

Meet the fam:  Donny, Hannah, Dad (Grant), Mom (Keri), and me.

Meet my Dad. He's a stellar dad and father. He is a wonderful example of loving the Mrs. He calls often just to see how everyone is doing, buys ice cream when wanted and necessary, and works incredibly hard to provide for our family. He taught me how to enjoy the beauty all around. He taught me how to ride a bike, how to ski, taught me how to drive, and teaches me how to be patient and loving. He takes me running and hiking. We'll go for drives in the canyon and talk about lots of different stuff.  He brings back wild flowers from his runs/hikes. He tickles me. He says "pellow" and "melk". He rubs my aching muscles. He gave me his red hair and red face genes. We share the ability to fall asleep almost anywhere. He is verrrrrry computer savvy. He is an excellent home teacher. His hugs are one of the most solid things I know. He shares his testimony with us. He is excellent with little children. I'm a daddy's girl. I love him lots and lots.

This is mi mamma. She's an angel. How she puts up with us kids, I'll never know. She is a magician in the kitchen. She rubs my aching muscles too. She supports me more than she probably should. She tried her best to make it to every cross country race, horse show, basketball game, track meet, school event, etc etc. She is an artist. She cares about others with so much love. She tells stories. She has very strange dreams. She is my mother, and I'm so glad. I'm also a mamma's girl. I also love her lots and lots.

This is Donald Grant. Aka Donny. He's 23 and goes to BYU. He's a genius. He's a computer freakshow smart kid that spends way too much time playing xbox but he's also Mr. social when he wants to be. He is skilled in the art of airsoft warfare and scaring people. He pokes me lots, but in an annoyed way I like it. He protects me when I am threatened and makes fun of me when I'm dumb. He's a good brotha. We don't see each other that much, but I enjoy spending time with him :)

Meet Hannah, Hannah Hollis. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of us together on my laptop, but we do indeed have pictures of us together. She's 21 and resides in Cedar City. Basically the only thing we have in common is our love for animals and our blue eyes. But we're sisters nonetheless! We've grown closer as we've moved apart, which is sad, but good because we keep gettin closer and closer :) We have lots good memories from playing together when we were younger. Like my mom, she's an artist. Like mega good. She has a hearty laugh that makes everyone crack a smile. I'm excited to see what she does with her future :)

I kept this short because I realized it's not a good idea to write about your family when you are spread across the state and you miss them terribly. I love my family dearly, and I am so glad that they are my family. More importantly, I am thankful I know Families are Forever.

Days11, 12, and 13

Day 11:
Meet Annilina Anderson. We like to call her Anni. Or Anndilusia. She's my best friend up here in Logan. We have fannnnnntastic adventures. It's a real, real good thing we have anatomy together or both of us would most definitely not survived that awful yet oh so intriguing class. Oh wait we haven't survived it yet. We still have a few more weeks to hang on. But luckily we only have the final left! That means nothing though because it's gonna be insane. Anyways, she's on the xc team with me but we didn't get to run together at all because she's a cripple. She's running now though! :) She accepted my awkwardness at camp at the beginning of the year and then embraced my craziness accompanied with Miss Suzie-Kin. We're gonna be roomies next year, nbd. It'll be a grand adventure.

We match quite frequently.
It's grand.

We're big fans of  Mr. Medlin

Best Halloween investment I ever made

Let me explain ourselves- we have lab Wednesday nights from 7:30-9:20.
We are exhausted due to practice and weights but those dead bodies sure give us a boost
We feel it is our duty to entertain our other labees. (That's a word, right? Well it is now.)
As much as we hate the time spent in the lab, the classroom and the countless hours pouring over our new bibles (aka class notes) we love it.
This is us with our handy dandy aprons and face shields to protect us from unwanted splashing of bodily fluids and other nasty fluids to keep the bodies from drying out. Yucky.

We love Harry Potter.
We also love the Hunger Games.

We be fraaaaaaands :)
Day 12:  How you found out about Blogger and why you made one:

I found out about blogger because I use the internet. I made one simply because I can.

Day 13- A letter to someone who has hurt you recently:

Dear name withheld,

STOP IT

Sincerely, Me

I believe in Christ

Happy Easter everyone!
This year was significantly different than years past. We always get together with my cousins and such on Easter, and my Grandma gives each family an Easter Lilly, honeycomb, flat bread, and her testimony in writing. Although I missed my family a ton on this special day, it was quite the experience to be alone. All the roomies had gone home for the weekend, so I had the run of the place. Saturday I went running in Logan Canyon but on my way back I stopped at first dam to just think. I sat on a bench and turned off my ipod to listen to the birds and the sound of the water. My mind wandered to many different subjects but the majority of my thoughts were turned to thinking about this beautiful earth and my precious Savior. I am so grateful for Him and His sacrifice. He knows me. He is happy when I choose to serve others and when I am living the way I should be. That makes me happy. He knows I mess up, and He knows I can do better. He loves me no matter what I do and provides me with opportunities to become happier and stronger.
Church today was exceptional. I almost started crying when we sang "I know my Redeemer Lives". The spirit was so strong.

We can have hope in this difficult life because He has risen. He defeated death so we can too. We have the wonderful, beautiful opportunity to be exalted because of His choices. I know that we can overcome our trials because He has already. He will help us each step of the way. And then when we've done all we need to do, we will see his eyes shining with joy and feel his hands as we kneel at his feet. We will hear him say "You did it." I cannot wait for that day.

My dear friend and Relief Society president gave the lesson today, and she shared this song. It's based off of Elder McConkie's talk shortly before he passed away in the April 1985 General Conference. Here's the last part of his talk.

"And now as pertaining to this perfect Atonement, I testify that it took place at Gethsemane and at Golgotha. And as pertaining to Jesus Christ, I testify that he is the Son of the Living God who was crucified for the sins of the world. He is our Lord, our God, and our King. This I know of myself independent of any other person. I am one of his Witnesses. And in the coming day I will feel the nail marks in his hands and in his feet and shall wet his feet with my tears. But I shall not know any better then than I know now that he is God's almighty Son and he is our Savior and Redeemer and that Salvation comes in and through his atoning blood and in no other way. God grant that all of us will walk in the light, as God our Father is in the light so that according to his promises the blood of Jesus Christ his son will cleanse us from all sin. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ Amen."

In a Coming Day
Kory Kunz

in a coming day i will close my weary eyes
in a coming day i will leave this mortal life
in a coming day i will feel the prints in his hands
in a coming day i will see the son of man
but when that day is here and eternity seems very clear

i shall not know then any better than i know now
that he is God's almight son my redeemer the atoning one
that he lives and he shall stand one day upon this land
and i shall not know than any better than i know now in a coming day

in a coming day i will wet his feet with my tears
in a coming day in his arms he'll hold me near
in a coming day i will look into his eyes
in a coming day i will live with him on high
but when that day is here and eternity seems very clear

I shall not know then any better than i know now
that he is God's almight son my redeemer the atoning one
that he lives and he shall stand one day upon this land
and i shall not know than any better than i know now in a coming day

What a beautiful day this will be

Men's Hearts Shall Fail Them, but hold up! We have the Gospel!

I am so blessed.
How people make it without the knowledge of this Gospel... I'll thankfully never know.
The Savior is my light.
I am encircled about with the matchless bounty of His love.
"Come back, come up, come in, come unto me."
Someday I'll make it there.

Don't demand things that are unreasonable. But demand of yourself improvement. As you let the Lord help you through that He will make the difference.

Kindly Light

Lead, kindly light, amid the encircling gloom; Lead thou me on!
The night is dark and I am far from home; Lead thou me on!
